April is National Heartworm Awareness Month!

We do have heartworm positive dogs in our area, so your dog could be at risk. Heartworms are transferred from a mosquito biting the infected dog and then biting your dog. Signs of heartworm disease may include a mild persistent cough, reluctance to exercise, fatigue after moderate activity, decreased appetite, and weight loss. The worms live and grow in the heart and clog up vessels. This is a deadly disease. Luckily, a monthly chewable can prevent heartworms! We carry Heartgard Plus and Interceptor Plus.
