The Veterinary Medical Clinic would like to formally announce that Dr. James and Martha Pajl will be “slowing down” the pace. The Veterinary Medical Clinic was started January 2, 1989, at 1603 Broadway Avenue which is located on Highway 81, also known as “busy Broadway”. During these 37 years we have served and cared for many animals. With a shake of the paw in friendship, with a bark and meow for affection, a wag of the tail in hopes of a treat, and a rub of the underbelly for comfort; we provide for them. Dr. Pajl has been providing medical healing aid to small and large animals for the past 44 years and loves his profession. Throughout the years he has witnessed countless miracles and shared his life with many dear friends, excellent veterinary assistants, and wonderful clients and patients. After prayerful consideration, Dr. Pajl believes it is time to retire. Dr. and Martha are looking forward to spending more time with their grandchildren as God moves them into the next season of life. The building and business are listed for sale; help spread the news! At the moment, Dr. and Martha do not have a definite answer to many questions. The big one being “when will the business be sold”? Unfortunately, this information is not known until a buyer is presented. Veterinary Medical Clinic will continue to operate the clinic until the sale is final. Dr. and Martha are seeking diligently for a veterinarian to take over the successful practice. They hope to bring in continued kind care for the animals and owners of the Yankton area. However, if the buyer is not a veterinarian and converts the property into a different business, then we will take the time to provide the health records of our patients to their owners. Dr. Pajl, Martha, and the staff want to thank our loyal clientele for keeping Veterinary Medical Clinic in business for over thirty-seven years. You are like family to us, and we hold you in our hearts. We have celebrated with you and have cried with you; you and your pets have left a lasting impression on us. Thank you.
Preferably, the hope is to sell the clinic to an aspiring young veterinarian. Perhaps the future buyer is reading this right now. We would like to take the time to address what is offered. The veterinary clinic is placed on two asphalt lots with a front and back entrance which leaves space for building expansion. The veterinary clinic is equipped with an organized system, high speed internet, a loyal client base, and a number of veterinary supplies and equipment. We believe an aspiring veterinarian will benefit from the success of the business and it will provide a good solid foundation for their career. Not only can the building function as a veterinary clinic with grooming and boarding services, but it also has the capabilities set up for radiography and laboratory testing. For the last 18 years we have used digital veterinary software by the name of Avimark for our patient records and our finances are handled through separate digital software by the name of QuickBooks. In addition to our digital records and finance keeping, we have the public platforms; Facebook, Instagram and an online website that is managed by our staff. On our website we share information about the clinic, client education, and pictures. In addition to our website, we keep in contact with our clients through Weave, which holds all our calls, text messages, and faxes. The clinic has its own email where we manage communication with other clinics, clients, subscription services and so much more. Recently we introduced an online pharmacy to our clients in order to provide convenient care with offering a variety of products. While we currently only have one DVM working, Dr. James M. Pajl, the clinic can accommodate two or more veterinarians. We do not operate as an emergency clinic.

In addition to Riverboat Days, the city hosts weekly concerts throughout the summer. Many people from all over the country visit Yankton.
